Welcome to Come to Dinner

Come to Dinner is a social and dining club created to bring together like minded professional people at dinner parties around Oxford, and group holidays around the world.

We only go to the best gastropubs and restaurants, which we are lucky to have some of the best in the country. We feature events and special offers at the restaurants, as well hosting our own dinner parties at selected venues.

Our Policy

Come to Dinner is a social and dining club designed for those who like to eat out, and to go on holidays. We arrange dinner parties in and around Oxford, and we also arrange group holidays in some of the most exotic destinations around the world. We hire large villas in Europe, North Africa and the Caribbean, and charge an all in price for staying in the villa usually for a week for up to a dozen people.

Group Holidays

Have you ever wanted to go for a break or for a holiday somewhere exotic, like maybe the Caribbean, but have never got round to it, or have no-one to go with?

At Come to Dinner we organise group holidays in some amazing locations around the world. We go to the Caribbean, we go to Morocco, we go to Crete and Corfu. We go to Ireland and Italy. In point of fact we can go anywhere you want. Members can suggest a destination, and even co-host a holiday, which we will then promote. Maybe there is somewhere in the world which you would love to share with other people? Co-host an event.

Every villa is different, for up to twelve people, and we will arrange the accommodation according to the party. Single people, couples and friends are welcome. It may well be if you are co-hosting an event that you invite some of your own friends and family. The intention is to create a week's break (usually) for a group of people on holiday together in exotic locations.

The price of the holiday includes everything during your stay in the villa. Flights, food and car hire are all included. Restaurants and trips are down to the individuals.

Dinner Parties

In the county of Oxfordshire we are lucky enough to have some of the very best dining pubs, gastropubs and restaurants in the country, with some of the top chefs, and it is our intention to visit as many as we can. Come to Dinner aims to provide a forum whereby members can indulge in lively and interesting conversation, make new friends, bring old friends, make contacts and maybe find romance. But perhaps most importantly, go to some great venues and enjoy good food, good wine in good company.

We organise dinner parties in some of the restaurants and gastropubs in the area; in Oxford we go to some of the best restaurants in town, including Brasserie Blanc, The Quod Bar and Grill, Gees and The Fishes in North Hinksey. In the country we go some of the best dining pubs in the area, including The White Hart at Fyfield, The Crooked Billet at Stoke Row, The Eyston Arms in East Hendred, and The Sweet Olive at Chequers in Aston Tirrold. We go for lunch at the famous Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons.

We also organise days out where events are best experienced in a group; we will go horse racing at Newbury Racecourse, greyhound racing at the Oxford Stadium, punting down the Cherwell with dinner at the delightful Cherwell Boathouse. We go clay pigeon shooting, we cruise down the River Thames and the Oxford Canal.

What Happens at a Dinner Party?

Depending at the venue, we will either meet at the bar, or you will be shown straight to the table. After that it's a dinner party, where we enjoy the food and wine, and one another's company. We try to maintain a 50/50 split males to females, but this doesn't always work out. In larger parties, the gentlemen move places after every course.

At some places it is possible to stay overnight, so why not make a night of it and book a room?

The Prices shown on the website, unless quoted otherwise are fully inclusive, including all food and drink. We do however reserve the right to impose a surcharge on anyone who wishes to sample the wares to unreasonable excess.

PLEASE NOTE that the menus shown for each establishment are sample menus, and may not necessarily be what is available on the night.

Dinner Partners

At Come to Dinner we get the chance to go to some fine eating and drinking establishments, and we also get the chance the to meet new people, make new friends and maybe get the chance to meet someone special. At our sister website Dinner Partners we offer the facility to meet potential partners online. Just click on the Find a Partner button above and follow the instructions.
